Description
PEScience Select Protein When building lean muscle, 100% Whey is INFERIOR If you’re a regular 100% whey protein user, read on, because there’s something you need to know. In our quest to build muscle, protein intake is the single most important factor. When we say intake, we mean the type of protein too. Reputable journals have already tested the effects of different proteins in human subjects, and the data could not be more conclusive. Whey + Casein is the superior choice. The media tells us that whey builds muscle. And you know what? They're totally right. Studies do show that whey alone builds muscle better than other proteins. But if you look what they compare it to, the issue is clear: studies compare whey to weak products like soy-based protein, sugary drinks, and even just water. Of course whey is going to come out on top when half the time it isnt even being compared to other protein! Stop Drinking In the Past! Nature had it right. When researchers at the world-renowned Mayo Clinic tested a combination of whey + casein protein, as found naturally in milk protein, they discovered that the two protein sources work together to build lean muscle. 100% whey protein in isolation only gets you so far... it can spike protein synthesis with an influx of amino acids, but quickly returns to baseline, leaving you where you started. Enter casein, a slower-digesting protein that's typically consumed for its anti-catabolic properties as it promotes a steady release of amino acids over time. Casein actually results in more retention of ingested protein than whey! In another published study, researchers found the combination of whey protein with casein protein resulted in a quick increase in protein synthesis along with a sustained elevation in plasma leucine levels . Plasma leucine levels are a key dictator of muscle protein synthesis, and thus, a combination of whey protein and casein protein may serve to maximize muscle protein accumulation. Whey protein hits the bloodstream at a fast rate, but it is casein protein that has been shown to create the strongest leucine balance. It only makes sense to consume them together. Studies have repeatedly shown that milk may be the optimal post workout drink due to the unique delivery and interplay of milk protein's components: whey protein and casein protein, together. In fact, the research shows that even if amino acid content of a protein is held constant, milk protein augments lean muscle accrual to a greater degree than fast-digesting hydrolyzed proteins due to the unique pattern of amino acid delivery that only milk protein can provide. Nature had it right all along: milk protein is king. Did we mention that Milk Protein Isolate is the first ingredient in our SELECT Protein? Whey and Casein UNITED We already know that whey protein spikes muscle protein synthesis while casein protein creates an anti-catabolic trickle of amino acids, a complementary combination that should be taken at the same time. But in addition to this, whey protein and casein protein each have their own unique bioactive subfractions and growth factors which work in concert when they're taken together. The 2005 International Whey Conference concluded that a mixture of whey + casein is the optimal form of protein for gaining muscle mass. That's right, even at a whey conference, the researchers found that 100% whey is not the answer! So if a synergistic whey-casein protein blend is the optimal blend for building muscle, what do you think SELECT Protein brings you? That's right: A whey-casein blend! Try the Rest of the Select Family! Select Protein Vegan Series Top Quality Ingredients | No Artificial Sweeteners or Flavors | The New Standard in Vegan Protein Flavor We chose protein sources that have been clinically tested in humans for their effects on muscle building. And we stay away from weak estrogenic proteins like soy. Crafted Flavors Chocolate Bliss Vanilla Indulgence Wild Berry Peanut Butter Delight Let’s be honest...the vast majority of vegan proteins taste terrible. To make a vegan protein taste great you need two things: Top quality ingredients, and a special flavoring craft that PEScience possesses. We started with the top quality source of every ingredient in the mix, making Select Vegan likely the most expensive protein on the market to produce. But that is what we do for our customers. We then take our flavoring craft and spend months, literally, creating the absolute best flavoring possible. Each Select Vegan is sweetened only with stevia. Select Protein Cafe Series Select Cafe is naturally caffeinated and the perfect replacement to high calorie, sugar loaded coffee beverages! Ditch your Coffee with 3 Ways to Enjoy your Protein! Classic Iced Mix 1 scoop of Select Café Protein with 6-8 oz of cold water, milk, or milk-substitute. Shake in a shaker cup or stir with a spoon. Pour mixed drink into a cup of ice and enjoy! Blend it! - Frappé Style Add 1 scoop of Select Café Protein to a blender with 4 oz of cold water, milk, or milk-substitute, and 1 cup of ice cubes. Blend until desired consistency is reached. Classic Hot Prepare 6-8 oz hot water at your desired temperature (Do not use boiling water, as this will cause the product to clump, best results are when water is 185-190°F). Add approximately 1/2 scoop of the Select Cafe Protein to the water and mix with a spoon. Once mixed, add the remaining powder and mix again. PEScience Select Protein4Oats Regular protein is formulated and flavored to be drank as a protein shake. Protein4Oats has been specially formulated and flavored for oatmeal. It will blow away any regular protein in your oatmeal on both taste and texture. Select Protein is renowned for being an incredible tasting protein powder as a shake, in recipes, and is commonly added to oatmeal. However we believed we could make a dedicated oatmeal flavoring system that could blow it away. We agreed that unless we could make a flavor that is miles better than anything else we wouldn't even release this product. We can say with confidence that nothing comes close to Protein4Oats in oatmeal.

i ordered the pb cookie flavor but they sent strawberry cheesecake…it tasted pretty good though, and amazon is already sending a replacement, also warning for people who don’t like extremely sweet protein powder you may need to water it down if you don’t want it to be too sweet. I had for the second time this morning in a strawberry and banana shake and it was delicious! i recommend if you get strawberry cheesecake that have it with that. the macros and also really good i am impressed with the macros and flavor. i’ve tried some hyped up protein powders that were just bad…ahem iso100 fruity pebbles…i was extremely dissapointed that i spent 35$ on a tub and didn’t like it :( that’s why i like these sample packs it stops you from spending so much money just to try something you don’t know that you like if you like the flavor…buy the big tub!this tasted really good. if you like the cookie, you’ll like this. it’s not gritty and doesn’t have that protein powder after taste. i mixed it with almond milk and will be purchasing again. even though snickerdoodles aren’t best flavored cookies ever to me, this definitely moved to the top of my list over dymatize iso 100 fruity pebbles because there’s no after taste. honestly i don’t have any complaints about this. i still have ghost protein powders i have to try but this is by far is my #1.Great flavor and it mixes so well with everything. I use it in my breakfast oatmeal, smoothies, I mix it with Greek yogurt and also use it to make protein muffins. I’ve tried lots of different protein powders and this one is the best in my opinion. I highly recommend!Flavor? 10/10 price? 9/10. However on mixing, it takes 300g of water to do 3 servings and realistically most shaker bottles can only do 200-250g that I own so 6/10 on mixing. BTW the scoops come out perfectly shaped unlike some brands.I honestly hate protein powders. I have been drinking 1st Phorm chocolate whey protein for over year now and wanted to switch to something cheaper honestly. This comes out much thicker and creamier then what I was drinking and doesn’t taste bad at all… for a protein powder :) I do think there is a bit of a sweet aftertaste but it’s nothing compared to things I have tasted in the past. I currently only mix with water for reference. This stuff taste amazing even mixed with water as thats all I use for my protein drinks. Haven't found a flavor fr them I don't likeThis is a great protein. This protein is a whey casein blend making it perfect for cooking. Not only is it good with cooking but it is good on its own as well. This being a whey/casien blend is perfect for consuming in meals because it is slow digesting and allows you to stay full for longer. This protein works great with my oatmeal and the pancake recipes i’ve tried. When you cook with whey protein you’ll notice the items will become very dry and almost uneatable. This protein makes those receipes 500% better and great to eat. Overall this is a great protein for me because I tend to use it towards night time or when I am cooking. If you are looking for a protein to use post workout I would recommend a whey isolate as it is slower digesting. I was hesitant at first, but I would give this protein a try especially if you love cooking. The snickerdoodle flavor really shines bright in this one, and it is definitely worth giving a shot!Since Dymatize has almost doubled the orice of Iso 100, I've decided to switch to something else. Only problem is, I love dymatize's chocolate peanut butter flavor and nobody else makes a chocolate peanut butter that tastes very good.. Until I tried this..Select nailed it with this flavor. Taste is not identical to iso100's version but it's still very good. I love putting it in cereal, it's a total game changer and can be added to almost anything.. Also, I love the blend of isolate and casein. I've always seen pure isolate as a disadvantage, since it digests so rapidly, less goes to muscle protein synthesis and gets broken down to triglycerides instead. With this, you get both the quick hit of protein and a bit of steady release over the next four hours. Keeping protein synthesis going around the clock. So yeah, it's not cheap but it's cheaper than Dymatize, tastes just as good and provides a better blend of protein imo...Pro: The easiest protein powder to mix I've ever had - doesn't have that grainy texture.Con: Far too sweet to add to anything as a full recommended serving. I tried stirring it into oatmeal, using in a shake and stirring into yoghurt as a full recommended serving and had to throw each of them out.I've resorted to mixing 10g of this with 20g of a different unflavoured protein powder in order to balance out the sweetness, which works well for me.I'm another one of the waffle affictionados and honestly, I bought this protein with the intention of using it for waffles, pancakes or oatmeal mix. It's perfect for it! Tastes like vanilla cake batter. I gotta say, there is a slight artificial aftertaste, but so does every other whey. It didn't bother me at all, I still enjoyed the waffle, but my BF was not a fan. Still a 5 stars for me because I can now eat my protein instead of having to drink a shake, which I don't enjoy. RecommendedI usually don't write bad reviews about anything. However, I feel the need to be a good samaritan in this instance. This shake is absolutely vile. If you're looking for a foamy, gritty and artificial shake this ones for you. Not tried it in other forms yet. But at least I have 54 more servings to experiment with - Lucky me!I like the product mixes well but flavor was awful ?Fantastic taste and no bitter aftertaste. Love it, definitely one of my favourites!!
