I was a little worried that the color would be too dark (since online photos are notorious for inaccurate depictions of makeup colors), but this foundation in porcelain is perfect for my very fair skin. The ease of application is wonderful--no mess, no fuss. I just swiped it over my face and then took my dense, soft brush and worked it in quickly. The coverage is light to medium, but just enough to help even out my skin. One could always use more for better coverage if desired. After I give that a little time to set, rather than add more, I use my mineral compact powder for finishing by either dipping my sponge applicator or a brush in it and going over the foundation. I also use the same powder dabbed onto a dense small brush to go over any spots on my face that need extra coverage. This gives me the matte look I'm after. I'm careful to not overdo either the stick foundation or the powder foundation since either will settle into my lines and I hate that. This routine lasts me all day without touchups and I like that. After about a 1/2 hour the makeup even looks better as it has had time to meld with my skin. Does this foundation cause me to break out? I'm not sure. Since I use only natural makeup (and moisturizers) without silicones, I wouldn't think so, yet I still get a few plugged up pores and I'm not sure what's causing them. This makeup seems moist over my moisturizer which I appreciate because so many foundations are drying. I enjoy using it and would recommend.Update: 12/22/15Recently I purchased a Clarisonic Mia for facial cleansing once a day. It's been about a month since I started using it. The first 2 weeks of using it I didn't see much change in the half dozen or so plugged pores (tiny whiteheads) I had, though I saw other benefits of using it such as smoother more even skin and a complete absence of the flakes on my face that I used to have. Lately, however, I have seen much improvement in my plugged pore problem. I still have a couple of stubborn ones, but I'm hoping in time they too will disappear. I'm also treating them with acne products to help speed up the healing. What I have found is that this foundation and my other natural makeup products are not interfering with my getting rid of these tiny whiteheads which is a relief. I still love this foundation and will continue to use it and buy more when I need it.
