There are gluten free substitutions, and then there are things that are just better and happen to be gluten free. This is one of those better things. I like this soy sauce (tamari) better than any other. My daughter is very sensitive to gluten. That's how we discovered this product. When we use it to marinade our teriyaki chicken, it's so much better than the big brand of soy sauce. Even the low-sodium soy sauces are too salty. Tamari is naturally gluten free and has less of that sharp salty taste. It's more full bodied and has a good flavor all around. It's more expensive, but this was the most cost effective way I've found to purchase it.My husband was diagnosed with Celiac a couple years ago and many adjustments had to be made. We eat a lot of sushi so regular soy sauce was no longer an option. This is not only gluten free but has a wonderful flavor. Celiac or not I would not go back to regular soy sauce. The flavor is robust and not salty! Delicious and now a staple in our house.If you are looking for a giant jug of GF soy sauce, this is the way to go. I use it for making GF Teriyaki sauce as well as all other soy sauce uses. I just saw a guy on Great British Bake Off add soy sauce to a cake... weird but the judges liked it!I really enjoy the complex flavors found in this soy sauce. Far superior to the store bought stuff.It was excellent in every way.Great value for the money and very versatile. Was in need of a gluten free soy sauce for my daughter.Used for Thai mealsNot to be confused with “Dark” soy. It’s not dark soy. Unless you have a problem with gluten I would stick with regular soy sauce. For Stirfry, rice and noodles it’s too salty for my taste but rich flavor.Maybe good with sushi - I haven’t tried yet.
