I'm one of the few people on the planet who hasn't mastered a rice steamer (I never get the timing right) so I was skeptical about the quality of rice steamed in a pouch, but it's perfect every time. I will admit to adding a tiny bit of water to the pouch before we steam in the microwave, simply because we like our rice more on the tender side.As far as flavor, this rice is SO delicious. I could eat it plain all day. It's got a nice creamy, nutty sort of flavor without that weird chalkiness that some rices have. And it doesn't require much seasoning at all.We use this rice with everything from Indian food to sides with vegetarian burritos to a stir-in for soups and stews. It's always ready to go, and even if we wait until last minute (which we often have to do with our schedules), there's no prep work involved- just tear the pouch open, toss in the microwave, and it's ready to go.Delicious and easy, you can't go wrong.
