This brand of organic wild rice has an excellent whole grain flavor. After cooking, I mix approximately one third with two thirds cooked brown rice for use in side dishes and chestnut stuffing during the holidays. It adds a chewy texture, nutty flavor and it seems to make even simple dishes, special.The pouch is re-sealable but after opening I store it in the refrigerator. As an estimate of shelf life, the bag in my prime pantry box has a Best By date 10 months in the future, but that will vary.
