My kneesMy Buglet is allergic to crustaceans ingredients which most other glucosamine/chondroitin products contain and this product causes no allergy with her, even with daily use.My son-in-law introduced me to this product as he swears by it. He is in his o30's and played football in college. He said it helps him continue to work out through old knee and shoulder injuries incurred during those yrs. I gave it a try to the tune of 2 months. I am an elliptical girl at 62 and use free weights etc.. I have to be honest here and tell you... my body is 100% aware when I run out or haven't kept in time with this product. Easy on your stomach and is totally part of my everyday life. It is expensive but what you're getting for the money is so worth it!I take this twice a Day for my Bone Loss, am 62.Have been using it for years. Cuts back on. Joint painDislike,To big for me to SwallowI wanted to post about this product, mostly because a few reviews list the price as a "con". However, I believe the price to be fair -- not the highest and not the lowest -- but fair. After hours of searching, I actually did find this same product cheaper somewhere else, but doing a price comparison across brands reveals to me that this particular entry is reasonably priced.First and foremost, be careful because "cheaper" Solgar glucosamine usually means only half the number of tablets! I believe some may be, although I can't be sure of this, erroneously comparing it to a different quantity.Second, yes, there are cheaper non-shellfish products that compete with this one, with varying amounts of glucosamine in them. I tried one alternative recently, and I was quick to look this one up again, as pain started creeping slowly back into my neck within two weeks of starting the alternative. It is true sometimes that you get what you pay for.At very least, I intend to stick with the Solgar brand for now because I know it works. The price here isn't bad in comparison, IMO.After taking a great product called Regenicare for my wife's herniated disc pain for over a year we noticed joint pain developing to the point of wondering if she got some kind of arthritis. We didn't know what to do. After going to the ER in a unrelated mater she was told not to take anything other than her prescriptions for 2 weeks and then the joint pain was gone. After doing some research and finding out there are two different shellfish alergies and doing our own tests we learned that the shellfish was causing the joint pain (even though there is no proof I could find other than our own testing that shellfish can cause a reaction like that to joints). After trying the Solgar Shellfish free Glucosamine Chondroiten MSM her pain is back to about 10 to 20 on a pain scale of 100. With no Glucosamine Chondroiten MSM (we are not sure if all are needed for her) her pain is so great some days she can't even get out of bed, that is when she says her pain is 110 or 120 out of 100. FYI: Keep in mind for her it started to work by day 35 taking 2 tablets twice a day so that she was getting about 3000 milligrams of Glucosamine per day which was not only recomended by a doctor for her (off the record of course) also it is the amount that works for her. If you have joint pain this stuff works, just make sure you try it for a good 60 days before you think it doesn't work. -RichI have just run out of Solgar extra strength Glucosamine Chondroitin MSM and when I saw triple strength on Amazon, I went ahead and ordered. These are not triple strength but the same product as the one I have just run out of. I have kept them as they are reasonably priced, but you must be aware, they are not as advertised. After checking the Solgar website, it appears that they do not sell triple strength, so perhaps this is an old photo. The tablets are quite large and will choke you if not careful. If you get one stuck in your throat, it is painful to swallow even with pints of water. I have tried breaking them in half, but they seem to expand and absorb any moisture. A coating on the tablets would help them go down easier.I have found the best method is to crunch them into bits with your teeth followed by a gulp of water. They have no taste so won’t make you gag.I have been taking these for the past two months and ordered more today as my supply is almost up. I chose this product as I am a vegetarian and there does not seem to be any ingredients derived from animals in there. That being said, nothing on the bottle states they are suitable for vegetarians/ vegans. They have helped a lot with my knee pain and given me the confidence to get back into sport. Although my knee pain still exists, it is 80% better today than it was two months ago, and so I am hopeful the pain will be non existent by the time the new supply finishes. The tablets are bigger than any I have ever had before, and initially daunting. However, I quickly got used to them, and they seem fine now. I've found they go down best straight after or whilst eating.I have read online that even after the pain has gone, continued intake of glucosamine supplements is necessary or the pain will come back. Therefore keep in mind taking this product will cost you approximately £170 a year.Solgar make great products but whoever thought making the tablets this huge clearly wanted people to choke on them. Even when broken in half these are awful to swallow and in the end I when to myvitamins and got some Glucosamine Chondroitin which are half the size but still have the same content. Won't be using these again.I promptly received six bottles of Glucosamine with MSM. However, Condroitin appeared neither on the label nor on the list of ingredients (see photos). My mum asked for Glucosamine with Condroitin, I have no idea if this is now suitable, and I'm travelling to see her in a few days so have no time to faff around with an exchange. I guess we'll all move on - except her, if these don't do the job and she has a fall. Cheers.Very disappointed - these tablets are enormous, and are most unpleasant to swallow. I tried breaking them in half but they still stuck in my throat and made me gag. I normally have the Healthspan ones, which are also big, but seem much easier to swallow. Have put the Solgar ones in the bin, won't buy again.
